Process Introduction
The Reflow process heats electronic components mounted on a PCB according to a specified temperature profile, melting the solder to form reliable joints. It is a critical assembly process that establishes electrical connections and mechanical strength between the components and the PCB, playing an important role in determining overall product quality and reliability.
Work Information
During the Reflow process, Flux components in the Solder Paste vaporize under high-temperature conditions and continuously accumulate inside the chamber, cooling sections, and exhaust system. Excessive buildup of contaminants may reduce heat transfer efficiency and cause temperature variations, resulting in degraded solder joint quality, equipment overload, and potential fire hazards. The Manufacturing Engineering Team performs regular preventive maintenance to maintain optimal thermal processing conditions and ensure a stable production environment.
- Remove Flux residue and contaminants accumulated inside the chamber to maintain efficient heat circulation.
- Inspect and replace exhaust ducts and Filters to ensure proper exhaust performance and airflow.
- Manage contamination in the cooling and heat transfer systems to maintain a uniform temperature profile.
- Inspect the conveyor drive and transfer systems for wear and perform lubrication as required.
- Check the operating condition of Heaters and temperature Sensors to maintain accurate process conditions.
- Inspect key electrical components and control systems to prevent equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain a uniform heat transfer environment to improve solder joint quality.
